Sergio Brack
Sergio is our formal Coordinator of Esports at the University of Maryland. He works in the Division of Student Affairs in the University Recreation and Wellness. Sergio possesses an extensive knowledge of the intercollegiate athletics esports scene, plus he is a sociologist.
He is one of the top 30 higher education IT influencers to follow according to EdTech magazine. A recent interview highlights his vision for growing the program at UMD.
As the former Director of Esports at Ottawa University (OU), Sergio was in charge of the strategic growth plan and overall success of their program.
Under his leadership OU won two national championships as well as three conference championships under the KCAC athletic conference.
He provided management of various esports titles; Valorant, Call of Duty, Overwatch, CSGO, League of Legends, Rocket League, Fortnite, and Smash Ultimate.
Given the athletic esports vision for the OU program, he handled recruiting, hiring and developing esports specialists with assigned roles as recruiters, production team members and specialty head coaches.
Brack handled production in the OU state-of-the-art competition and practice arena. Prior to being hired at OU, Brack served as the president of the Ole Miss Esports program.
