Coming in early 2025, a 4900+ sq. foot facility in the Ellicott quad area of campus will support the following esport activities:

  • Premier and Academy Team Intercollegiate competition
  • SGA gaming club practice and competition
  • Late night newbie to expert social gaming activities
  • Academic pathways to careers in esport

The Philip Merrill College Of Journalism in conjunction with University Recreation and Wellness broadcasts most of our premier team matches from Studio C in Knight Hall.

There are 5 esport gaming stations plus 4 production stations. This live streaming production facility is not open to the public, club gamers or the general campus community.

The School of Journalism offers video game theory, Unreal Engine and esport broadcasting courses.

Premier Team Training Center

Successful competitive teams are a crucial part of a The BIG Esports Conference. UMD esports championship play will generate excitement and strengthen our school spirit.

We have a 7 seat competitive esport training center exclusively for our premier and academy teams only. The Division of Information Technology (DIT) has provided low-latency networking. This training center is not open to the public, club gamers or the general student body.
